Meet the team

Lisa O’Neill (Principal)

Lisa has more than 25 years experience in public relations and integrated marketing with a focus on clients in hospitality, travel and non-profit. A graduate of the University of Texas and lifelong travel nut, Lisa began her career on the East Coast working at agencies, in house and ultimately running her own boutique agency in Boston. Her diverse background, which ranges from marketing and community relations for a weekly newspaper group to representing high-end luxury clients and start-ups, gives Lisa a broad perspective of how public relations can make a substantial impact on businesses of all sizes.

After 15 years in the northeast, she returned to Austin in 2004 to raise her family deep in Longhorn country, happily leaving behind the snow shovel and tireless search for tasty Tex-Mex and a tangy margarita. Lisa went to work handling public relations at two of Austin’s leading advertising agencies, followed by running the lifestyle group at Austin’s oldest independent PR agency, (now Hahn Public Communications). She re-opened her own public relations firm in 2009 and hasn't looked back since.

Lisa is a passionate supporter of World Vision and its child sponsorship program, along with non-profits in the Austin area such as the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of South Central Texas and Kids in a New Groove, of which she serves on its board of directors. Passionate about the cross section of global travel and sustainability, she is the leader of the Austin hub of Travel+SocialGood, a U.S.-based non-profit with global chapters.

Emily Ergas

Emily, is a Dallas-raised, Calfornia-born city girl. Always curious, she is fascinated by languages and the way people use them to express themselves. She manages most NONC accounts in the arts/entertainment, hospitality and travel industries. With more than six years agency experience, Emily excels in client relations along with the creativity and tenacity needed for a successful media relations plan.

Emily graduated from Trinity University in San Antonio with a B.A. in Communications, Spanish and International Relations. After a year with a PR firm in San Antonio, she went abroad to become fluent in Spanish, spending a year in Santiago, Chile, and a year in Madrid, Spain. Although she loved the overseas experience, she was ready to return to the U.S. to re-establish a career in public relations.

Emily loves being in Austin (in particular, its Tex-Mex and margaritas) and thrilled at the opportunity to pursue her passion for PR with NONC.

When not working in PR or learning a graphic design program, Emily is usually planning a new travel adventure, eating breakfast tacos or trying to learn French.

Jennifer Swanson

Jennifer Swanson is a media professional with more than 12 years of experience in public relations, marketing, branding and editorial. From managing accounts to launching PR campaigns and working red carpets, she has honed her communication skills over the years in New York City and Austin with brands in the luxury fashion, beauty, travel, hospitality, architecture, film, food, beverage, art, music, technology/innovation, publishing, non-profit and medical sectors. She has both in-house and agency experience.

A previous editorial director for an internationally published luxury lifestyle magazine, Jennifer enjoys storytelling and helping brands connect with target audiences.

The native Texan (born in Guam) received her first passport at six weeks of age and has visited over 32 countries. Jennifer studied abroad in London and Barcelona before graduating with a Bachelor of Arts with honors in Spanish and Retail Merchandising from the University of Texas at Austin. Outside of work, she enjoys playing piano, photography, biking and most things art, film, music, travel and breakfast taco-related.

Ashley Conway

Ashley grew up as an expat in Africa and Europe, and her experience with foreign cultures and customs sparked a lifelong passion for learning and sharing stories of diverse groups and people.

Her background in healthcare technology, social enterprise and nonprofit organizations lends itself to her work for NONC client, IT'S TIME TEXAS. Previously, Ashley led the marketing and communications programs for Afoundria; a healthcare IT company serving physicians who treat our aging population, and for Verb; a mission-driven technology enterprise that runs competitions tackling wicked problems across the globe in partnership with global brands like Dell, IBM, TOMS, LIVESTRONG, MetLife Foundation, and Nike.

A New Orleans native, Ashley attended Trinity University in San Antonio, TX for undergrad and The University of Texas at Austin for a Master's degree in Communications. She enjoys hiking, traveling and cooking up a storm in her kitchen.

Our fall intern, Elle, is a true Texan, born and raised. She knows where to find the best Tex-Mex and is always looking to try new things. Elle will graduate from the University of Texas in Austin in December 2017 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Public Relations and a certificate in business. Elle has experience with customer service, social media and event planning and is ready to further her PR knowledge at NONC.

When she’s not hard at work, Elle enjoys trying queso at different restaurants (her current favorite is Kerbey Lane), watching the latest movie, and exploring downtown Austin.

Jacob Schatte

Jacob, our fall intern, is an aspiring media professional who is currently enjoying his senior year at Texas State University, graduating in May 2018 with a Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations and a minor in Communication Studies. He has experience with public relations, social media, and public speaking.  He is also interested in entertainment, traveling, food, and - being a native Texan -a good margarita.

In addition to this internship, Jacob works part time at ITAC at Texas State University. In his downtime, Jacob likes to spend his time with his friends, either checking out new places, seeing  local live entertainment, or planning his next big travel adventure.
