New Business Hosts Austin Gay Lesbian Chamber of Commerce’s First “Rainbow Ribbon Cutting” on January 4th

-------------------------------

Austin-based Franchise Designed for Expansion to Dallas, Houston, and More

(AUSTIN, TX January 2013) He’s For Me (H4M-Austin) is a private, offline, and highly customized matchmaking service designed exclusively for select gay professionals seeking long-term relationships.  Designed, owned and operated by Austin businesswoman and certified matchmaker, Tammy Shaklee, the new niche service provides modern-day matchmaking customized exclusively for underserved busy professionals.

AGLCC (Austin Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce) board members will officially welcome H4M to Austin and learn more about the inspiration, research, development and launch process of this gay-centric franchise at a “Rainbow Ribbon Cutting” this Friday, January 4th at 10:00 a.m.

Shaklee, herself the happily married result of an offline matchmaking service in Austin, saw the need for a similar confidential, exclusive offline service for busy gay male professionals. “H4M introduces sophisticated gay professional men, and allows for traditional introductions, courting, and dating, with the goal of a long-term relationship,” she said.

As a former broadcast journalist, Texas political director and philanthropy CEO, Shaklee researched current trends, behaviors, and dating opportunities for Austin’s professional gay men.  She then conducted more than three months of confidential one-on-one focus group interviews with gay professional men from age 25 to 65.  Input helped customize the offline matchmaking process, service, and communications.

“My husband and I just celebrated our four-year anniversary – the result of hiring an offline matchmaker in Austin eight years ago. When I realized our busy professional gay friends didn’t have that same opportunity, I started the research and set out to make it happen,” Shaklee says.

Officially launched in November 2012, H4M now serves members in and outside of Austin while attending gay-centric events and networking opportunities in search of ideal matches. Shaklee is proud to join AGLCC as one of Austin’s newest gay-centric businesses. “The AGLCC immediately introduced me to fellow pro-equality businesses and service providers for not only our Austin office, but for every franchise as we look to expand our matchmaking service to cities like Denver, Atlanta, and even Miami.”

H4M-Austin rewards those who refer friends and family to H4M matchmaking services.  With each new member or client, H4M offers a gift to a local charity of your choice through the Austin Community Foundation gift card program.

About Tammy Shaklee:

Shaklee has been a natural and personable connector through three successful careers. She is a former broadcast journalist and Texas Senate District Director for the late Senator Teel Bivins, former Ambassador to Sweden. After graduating Leadership Texas in 1996, she followed her passion for mentoring by replicating a national mentoring program in an at-risk Texas high school to keep students from dropping out.  She served as a Donor Services Director for a $150 million community foundation before becoming the CEO of Austin’s chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of America, where she increased revenues 250% in six years and increased children served by 150%.  Her success led to consulting in nonprofit management as a leader in best practices on policy, procedure and internal controls.  Happily married and without kids, she volunteers in leadership, historic preservation, hosts a monthly salon of media-savvy women, regularly offers tips in the H4M blog and is working on her first book.

(AUSTIN, TEXAS) December 3, 2012 – Jardin de Niños Interlingua (JNI), the Spanish Immersion Day School with two locations in Austin, will open the doors to its third location in Lakeway at 107 Ranch Rd 620, Suite 300. On January 4th, the school will open to students from age three to kindergarten, and after the first year JNI will take applications for students up to third grade. All three schools are NAEYC accredited and are in the final steps of gaining International Baccalaureate certification. Executive director and founder of JNI, Adriana Rodriguez, has named Tracy Marie Price as the director of the Lakeway school. Coming by way of California, Price has worked in child care for more than 20 years as a teacher, master teacher and lab school manager and director to name a few.

“Our goal is to produce well-rounded students that will contribute to this global society, whether it is through language or knowledge about the cultures around them,” said JNI Rodriguez. “Our staff is eager to welcome new families to our JNI community and to introduce students to our immersion approach.”

Founded in 2007 with 20 children, JNI’s expansion will educate more than 250 students throughout its three locations. JNI maintains small class sizes, Spanish immersion at pre-toddler age and by four years of age, French and Mandarin are introduced. In time, the new campus will run as the other two locations incorporating cultural-minded lessons based on other cultures’ norms, foods and traditions; musical education with guitar lessons offered onsite and a new theater class scheduled for Fall 2012.

About Jardín de Niños Founded by Adriana Rodriguez in 2007, Jardín De Niños Interlingua (JNI) is a Spanish immersion school for children three months through fifth grade with three locations in Austin. The NAEYC accredited school and official candidate for the International Baccalaureate accreditation believes that reaching children at an early age is the best time to provide experiences that prepare them to successfully maneuver in a multilingual and multicultural world.

JNI utilizes a Spanish language program in which the children are immersed in Spanish while participating in educational activities. Once a child reaches the age of 4, French and Mandarin are also introduced once a week. The school integrates standards for kinder through elementary curriculums that aligns with International baccalaureate frame work. JDNI is working on becoming an accredited International Baccalaureate institution. Follow JNI on Facebook for information on school happenings, activities and ways parents can get involved.
