We recommend taking a few journalism classes, but however it happens, you must be able to write clearly and concisely with proper punctuation (AP Style). Traditional PR includes plenty of written materials from press releases, fact sheets, bios, pitch letters and so on. Writing for social media, blog posts, and any form of influencer communication demands strong writing skills.
Good writing can save the day. Lazy or bad writing can create a royal mess that can haunt for a VERY long time.
We know many media friends who could share their scary stories of sloppy press releases, pitch letters and the like coming from PR firms large and small. Don’t be one of those PR people.
