Get To Know Globetrotting For Good

By Joseph Morgan, co-founder & executive director

Globetrotting for Good is an Austin-based nonprofit with a mission of spreading goodwill around the world by helping people conveniently make meaningful contributions to charitable organizations at home and abroad, making philanthropy a way of life, and turning world travelers into world changers one small act of kindness at a time.

Globetrotting For Good supports charities around the world through an innovative network, making it easier for caring people to get involved both at home and abroad. By simplifying the means through which you can contribute time, money, supplies, skills, and manpower to organizations in need, we hope to create a culture of giving back to your community and to those less fortunate everywhere. Our idea is that small contributions from many can outweigh large contributions from a few. Instead of just competing with other nonprofits for funding and resources we hope to assist them by bringing you to their cause and to their rescue. Our objective is to make contributing simple and available to as many people as possible and to expand the idea of philanthropy as a way of life and a way of travel.

It’s Not Too Late to Join the Team! Bolivia Volunteer Trip August 18 - September 7, 2016

In August, we’re heading to Bolivia with a small group of dedicated volunteers to partner with local nonprofit, Up Close Bolivia, in the renovation of three classrooms in the charming community of Mallasa. We'll also repair a playground in a remote village, stock several rural libraries with children’s books, and donate hundreds of pounds of supplies to local organizations. Before, after, and between all the work, we'll visit some of the best sights this friendly, fascinating country has to offer. We'll spend a day as volunteer Zebras doing community work in La Paz, visit the beautiful "white city" of Sucre, tour the fascinating active mines of Potosi, cross the world famous surreal salt flats of Uyuni by jeep, and do a multi-day, eco-friendly trek of the beautiful countryside. As always, our volunteer trips are the perfect blend of hard rewarding work and genuine travel experiences. Spots are limited so please email ASAP.

If you’re interested in supporting these much needed projects but don’t have the time to join us, we have two excellent options:

  1. Contribute to our supplies donation by August 10. We’re bringing a trove of gently used goodies for the students and need Spanish picture books, smart phones, Kindle readers, ink cartridges, arts & crafts books/DVDs and more. Click here to see our full Wishlist.

  2. Visit our crowdfunding page. Every dollar counts!
