All three schools are NAEYC accredited and are in the final steps of gaining International Baccalaureate certification. Executive director and founder of JNI, Adriana Rodriguez, has named Tracy Marie Price as the director of the Lakeway school. Coming by way of California, Price has worked in child care for more than 20 years as a teacher, master teacher and lab school manager and director to name a few.
“Our goal is to produce well-rounded students that will contribute to this global society, whether it is through language or knowledge about the cultures around them,” said JNI Rodriguez. “Our staff is eager to welcome new families to our JNI community and to introduce students to our immersion approach.”
Founded in 2007 with 20 children, JNI’s expansion will educate more than 250 students throughout its three locations. JNI maintains small class sizes, Spanish immersion at pre-toddler age and by four years of age, French and Mandarin are introduced. In time, the new campus will run as the other two locations incorporating cultural-minded lessons based on other cultures’ norms, foods and traditions; musical education with guitar lessons offered onsite and a new theater class scheduled for Fall 2012.
About Jardín de Niños Founded by Adriana Rodriguez in 2007, Jardín De Niños Interlingua (JNI) is a Spanish immersion school for children three months through fifth grade with three locations in Austin. The NAEYC accredited school and official candidate for the International Baccalaureate accreditation believes that reaching children at an early age is the best time to provide experiences that prepare them to successfully maneuver in a multilingual and multicultural world.
JNI utilizes a Spanish language program in which the children are immersed in Spanish while participating in educational activities. Once a child reaches the age of 4, French and Mandarin are also introduced once a week. The school integrates standards for kinder through elementary curriculums that aligns with International baccalaureate frame work. JDNI is working on becoming an accredited International Baccalaureate institution. Follow JNI on Facebook for information on school happenings, activities and ways parents can get involved.
